A Practical Guide to Equipping the Hearts and Minds of Boys without Losing or Breaking Your Own

If this is God’s chosen gift to us, then why does it seem so hard? How can we prepare these boys to serve God when we can barely make it through the day? Isn’t there a better way?

The answer is yes.

I love this down to earth practice book about how boys really are different and it’s ok to parent them differently and offers great advice for doing so.

We found this book after our first son was born. Now that we have three my husband references it on a regular basis. “This is normal, honey. We’re raising real men.”
It’s a daunting job but this book gives great perspective and encouragement.

This book should be distributed by the hospital/midwife/birthing center each time a boy is born. It’a a great resource for all parents, but especially for single mom’s trying to fill a double role. The knowledge gained from this book improved our homeschooling as I implemented changes to our son’s day. Our son has graduated and I miss going to homeschool conferences. Hal and Melanie Young were always at the top of my list of speakers. I love to tell people about their resources!

Thanks for helping us to understand our sons better. It is a gift to oneself to read this book!

This book has been so helpful to me! My husband and I have 3 boys and for awhile, it was difficult for me to wrap my head around how to understand or relate to so much testosterone! Each chapter in this book helped me to understand my boys better and helped me to have more confidence about being a boy momma. Thank you for writing this book!

I love this book! It has been excellent in helping me understand and train my 4 boys, now ages 5-15. One of my favorite bits of the down to earth, practical advice is the “youngest able, oldest available” guideline. It is a great reminder that the older ones should not be doing everything and that I need to spend time training the younger ones, so they have the same skill set as the olders as they grow up!
