God Answers Prayer!
Posted by Melanie in Uncategorized

Ever doubt that God answers prayer? Come talk to us, because we’ve seen Him answer so many prayers, it is unbelievable.

We were hoping and praying that Hal’s immune system would recover enough for him to get his chemo yesterday. His neutrophil (infection fighting cell) count was 700 last week, while normal is more than 2000, really more than 2500. We were hoping for at least 1300, so it would be clear it would be safe for him to receive the chemo.

Imagine our shock and surprise, when his number came back at 4600! That’s square in the middle of the normal range! God is so kind to us!!!

Thank you so much for praying. Hal is feeling pretty hard hit today from the chemo, but we are encouraged that there is only one more left, then radiation. It has been a difficult time, but big blessing seem to come with big trials.

The hymn I share below is one not many people sing today, but it is full of comfort and encouragement.

Rejoicing,
Melanie

The Lily of the Valley

I have found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.

Refrain

He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tower;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.

Refrain

He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessèd will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessèd face,
Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll.
