  • Jeanine

We only use biblically sound curriculum.

  • Kate

We use real life examples of things we actually see/experience and we draw on examples from Scripture, literature, and history. I’d love a formal program like this one!

  • Lisa

we talk about our faith often and tell them to hold strong because the world won’t share the same beliefs.

  • Sheila

we study other philosophies and talk about them and their impact on the world. we study the Bible and what it has to say about it all and discuss all of this with Dad at dinner. Sometimes we role play.

  • mom2boys

I think the most important part of teaching our children to stand up for what they believe is to give them a firm foundation by protecting them while they are very young from outside influences. Sending our 5 year old into public education is the equivalent of sending a brand new Christian out to the mission field with little training. They’d get eaten alive!

  • Joshua DuBois

We teaching our children what the Word of God says and how not to believe the lies, false teachings, and philosophies of the world. When they have the Word of God as a foundation they will be able to stand strong and not be swayed!

  • Michele P.

Root them deeply on God’s word from an early age.

  • Christine

We teach the Word of God, attend a biblically sound church, and we do our best to lead by example.

  • ShannaG

We are teaching them the Word of God and grounding them in a strong faith.

  • Jennifer Freeman

Of course, Bible reading and discussing. Also, we have always talked quite candidly with our boys about life. We also are soon going to start Apologia’s Who is God. Very excited about that!

  • Emily Clair

We are teaching him what is actually in the Bible. As he gets older we will continue to show him how to look specific things up in the Bible, how to actually listen to others viewpoints and than calmly answer back. We also try to expose him to other beliefs and why we believe differently. You cant argue something you dont understand!

  • Sharon

We are starting off with teaching them God’s word and lots of memorizing verses.

  • Angela

We are helping them to hide the Word of God in their heart. And to put on the whole armor of God.

  • Carrie L

We teach them the truths of God’s Word and the importance of checking everything they see, hear, read against what God says.

  • Anna

We try to teach by example, but we discuss our faith all the time.

  • Dawn Saint

For the younger set – just to treasure God’s unchangeable Word and to see Mom and Dad loving it, learning it, and trusting it over the opinions of others.

  • Dawn

Reading and discussing the Bible daily. Watching movies like “Indoctrination” with them.

  • Angie

Studying the Word, lots of practice.

  • Sharon

We are teaching simple truths through the Word and giving lots of verses for memorizing.

  • Rachel Poe

By teaching them what we believe and why. Also by teaching why it DOES matter what others believe.

  • Niki C

We study the Word daily, both individually and as a family. We also have many discussions about real life situations and examples as they come up.

  • dana

We get into the Word every day and as wrong philosophies come across their paths we teach them what the Word says. We are teachung them to seek Gods Word and to get into it on their own as well…so they know it well enough for them to know when wrong philosophies come across their path.

  • Carroll Sue

In family worship each night Dad leads in Bible study, song and prayer, and all join in. At the end we discuss a variety of applications of scripture to various world situations, in our lives, government, globally, etc. Scripture is the core of our family teaching, and we study 5-7 times through out the day, using memorization, reading, catechism, etc. It is a good time and we all look forward to it.

  • Shannon P

Instilling the word of GOD as the one and only real truth and trusting that HIS will and guidance for them will be enough to keep them walking the right path.

  • Delle Sherer

I keep Zach in school and get him to hang out with his older cousins and such who are faithful. It rubs off :) I thank God for an awesome family that follows Christ.

  • Sherry W.

By spending time daily and God’s word and answering the difficult questions that they have about following and being a believer of Jesus Christ.

  • http://debbiesdigest.blogspot.com/ DebbiesDigest

Daily Bible class for our homeschool, family devotions most evenings, family discussions of pertinent topics, study of good Bible curricula for school which aids in a Christian worldview, Christian worldview books for science, history and other subjects, and other things. We are currently reading the Politically Incorrect history books for American History and it is our first time reading them, I am learning a lot right along with my son.

  • Carla

We study the Bible daily–it is as “core” a subject as math or language arts.

  • E. Biernacki

We use Bible based homeschool curriculm and use real life example. Easy to find since many family members are nonbelievers.

  • Shannon Wallace

We aren’t perfect and do not stay consistent every single day in planting seeds of Faith. But I would say us teaching our son to hide God’s Word in his heart, only listening to Godly music, homeschooling through a Christ-centered focus, having deep discussions and memorizing Proverbs.

  • Sarah Bailey

By going through worldview curricula as well as including Bible reading and study

  • Brittany

Right now we are teaching the basics, reading, praying, singing as a family.

  • Melissa

By giving them the reasons why we believe what we believe (according to Scripture).

  • JessW

My kids are still pretty young. The oldest is just about 7. Right now we do devotions, attend Bible study, church etc and surround them with a Christian life.

  • Gfamof7

We use the Word and have been through the Truth Project and Ken Ham’s Demolishing Strongholds.

  • Amanda

We use Fallacy Detective so they can point out the funky thinking that is rampant out there!

  • Jennifer Hall

We spend a lot of time in the word and discussing issues of the world today. We use Answers in Genesis a lot. We love Apologia science texts btw. :)

  • Beth Yenca

God’s Word, Apologia’s What We Believe

  • Julie

Right now we are working through Apologia’s Who Is God? It’s a great resource to teach them what a Biblical Worldview should look like. We also read chapters of the Bible every day and a chapter of Proverbs a day. God’s word will not return void in their lives.

  • Tandy B

We are about to start Apologia’s Who is God? after we finish Our 24 Family Ways. We also watch one chapter of the Bible on DVD each evening… our church gives each family a DVD of a book of the Bible each month for us to watch together as a family.

  • Helen

We just ordered Who Is God? to start our year learning how to combat worldly thinking

  • RaShell S

We expose them to the truth! Over and over and over again. Counterfeit bill experts know counterfeits immediately because they know the real thing so well. We discuss other philosophies and hold up the beliefs to what the Bible says. It’s fun and very productive.

  • Jennifer H.

We discuss what we think and why we think it.

  • Shannan H.

When our kids hear things that they question or don’t understand, we look up what the Bible has to say about it and then discuss it!

  • Schelly

Teen Pact has made a huge impact on my teen in this area.

  • Judi

Lots of conversations about current events.

  • Christina P

My children are still very young – we have a lot of conversations when situations come up in daily life and stress what we believe to be true.

  • Hannah

Currently we are in the preparation stage of ensuring our kids (young 2 & 4) know what is truth, who God is, who they are, etc. We are using the “My 1st Book of Questions and Answers” along with reading from the Bible and children’s Bibles like “The Big Picture Story Bible”. My husband and I have worked with youth before and currently are with a more mature audience. The basics of apologetics are so lost and yet so very vital in our church today. This looks like a fantastic study for all age groups!

  • Jessica

Conversations, DVDs, Apologia Bible curriculum, etc….

  • TK

    Having daily bible reading

  • Renee

We are constantly talking through every day challenges, Biblical truths, scripture, measuring and weighing it out. We have read together books like Leading Little Ones to God, and Apologia books like Who is God and Can I really know him? Sonlight Curriculum including Mere Christianity and More than a Carpenter.
